Surgical Registrar $100,000 - $180,000 $150 - $200 per hour
Consultant Surgeon $250,000 - $1,000,000+ ​$2000 - $3000+ per day

To be eligible for a Specialist role in Australia, you must hold a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) or be eligible for specialist registration via the Specialist Assessment pathway if you have an overseas qualification. If you are an Ophthalmologist, you will be assessed by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists which leads to Fellowship of that college (FRANZCO).
